About

Mission

Our mission is to empower women, the LGBTQIA+ and communities of color by featuring underrepresented voices to inspire positive societal change through media and entertainment. Marlin@Large Productions (M@L) spotlights diverse stories, solution driven commentary and calls for action.

Vision

Garry Marshall once said, “other people make important television, I make recess.”

We believe to strike a balance, the core of any good production marries the important with the recess. Every film is not made to be an Oscar contender or go viral, but any frame can make an impression. Entertainment can surprise and delight, inform and reshape our thinking, reflecting our shared commonalities, experiences and individual uniqueness to provide a greater understanding of ourselves, each other and the human condition.

Our vision is to create the world we want to see by pointing the lens towards communities and individuals who are often excluded from media and storytelling. We seek to enact this vision by building crews committed to championing new stories and asking the right questions.

Development to Final Cut

Partnering with our corporate, small business, and non-profit clients, we collaborate to produce thought-provoking and relevant content targeted to their audience. By developing the story, key messaging and imagery, with the magic that happens on set and in post, we bring our collective vision to life.

The M@L team is driven to capture how your work enriches the culture and strengthens the wellbeing of the community.

Marketing, Distribution and Capacity Building

In addition to producing your film, M@L can support all your PR needs. We provide services ranging from program ideation, press releases, social media promotions, outreach and events, act as relationship manager to third parties, media and talent, and provide guidance on implementing an integrated strategy.

These films and campaigns are significant resources in promotional efforts, proven to amplify your organization’s goals, achievements and showcase the impact of your success.

The M@L Model

We employ a collective of freelance creative professionals across the globe from Writers, Cinematographers, Sound Engineers, Editors, and Graphic Designers to produce our films.

Most grassroots organizations lack access to high quality film production resources. To meet this need, M@L provides a sliding scale price and customizable service structure for non-profit organizations.

Alexis-Headshot

A call to act is born from an image that cannot be denied. Visual storytelling is one of the most effective forms of advocacy in our toolbox. When those affected and those empowered to create change align to share universal stories in a thoughtful and authentic way, films can profoundly impact the evolution of our humanity and our communities. Together they shift the narrative and shine a light on the issues, illuminating solutions.”
