Kiva and Citi launched the Kiva U initiative in late 2013, as a platform to connect people, share compelling content and resources, and help students and teachers learn about poverty, microfinance, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and sustainability. In its first year, over tens of thousands of students and teachers have banded together to take action with Kiva U and they have empowered countless entrepreneurs
