In 2013, Hogar Hispano Inc. purchased non-performing mortgages from Citi for 34% of the value – one of the largest transactions of its kind between a financial institution and a national nonprofit organization. The transaction enabled 120 families to purchase their first home and helped 318 homeowners at risk of foreclosure stabilize their finances and stay in their homes.
